You could use many different ways for your own email address. You can use your email address to make your own MySpace and Facebook page. It is a form of internet website to keep up with your own friends; you could look up for your friends on that website. If you find your friends you can send them request to be their friend, and you can keep in touch with your friend. You could make new friends on those website if you can, just be careful to make sure if the people seem to have real page. It is safer if you actually know those people to be friends with on the website. There is varies of email, you can have Aim, live messenger, and yahoo chat. It is a way to instant message them, they will be able to talk to you at the same moment, if they are online, and it is other faster way to communicate with your friends or families.
It opens all way for communication for people with disabilities, such as deaf people are able to communicate with people without having to rely on others to make appointments for them. Email changed everything for everyone because deaf people weren’t able to communicate with a lot of people because it was that way, but it is much better for everyone than it used to be.
People are able to communicate with people who live in different Country; it is a faster, easier, and free way to communicate with others. People used to have to use long distance phone calls to communicate with someone who lives in different Countries; it is very expensive way to do. But now with email, instant message, and Webcam, people are able to communicate with others in a long distance without having to worry about money issues.  
Email are very popular and it can have a lot of problems for people who are the victims of virus in the computers and spam email can causes virus, it steals all of your information, and causes problems if you have a lot of personal stuff in your computer. You could prevent this from happening to have antivirus protection for your computer, you can have MacAfee, spyware, Norton, and it is all examples of antivirus protection.
As long people are careful with emails and protection for the computer, email is a wonderful thing to communicate with others.
